Description:
BESB Contract Services and Artisans Boutique provide services to persons
who are referred on a contract basis (renewed annually) from Board of
Education and Services for the Blind (BESB). The intent of the program is
to assist each person in directing a career goal and securing paid work,
whether it is in the Sheltered – Extended Supported Employment Model,
Competitive with Long Term Support Model, or the Competitive with Short-term
Support Model.
For those who choose the Extended Supported Employment Model, consumers will
work in a group with peers to help build a small business of handmade favors
and gifts, as well as work on contract assembly projects as we receive them.
For individuals who choose either competitive model, the goal is to find a
job in the community, earning a competitive rate of pay from the employer,
while getting the job supports needed from Marrakech to be successful in
competitive employment.
