Weekend Recreation Respite Services

For Adults with Developmental Disabilities

Marrakech, Inc. has opened its Island Lane Center in West Haven on Saturdays and Sundays as a respite resource to parents/guardians of adults with developmental disabilities. Our center is conveniently located, fully accessible and has many beautiful, functional features for a fun filled weekend. We offer weekends that are jam-packed with recreational, social and community activities provided by a knowledgeable, joyful staff and supervised by a recreation professional. Services will be available from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Each day will include fitness, movies, entertainment, healthy lunch and snacks, arts and crafts, music, games, science, current events, healthy cooking and opportunities to meet new people and explore new interests!

Families who are interested are encouraged to call Marrakech to discuss this new service, the unique interests and needs of their child or loved one and at what frequency (visits per month) or length of time (number of hours each visit) they would like to schedule the participation of their child or loved one. We may also be able to discuss what financial resources are available for the payment of fees which will be based upon each person's unique support needs.
