Our Community Support Services Program provides Individualized Home Support (IHS) services to individuals who are living in their family homes, as well as to adults living in their own apartments who receive less than 24/7 support.

We remain committed to the philosophy that individuals should remain in the family home for as long as they desire and are able to do so. Marrakech provides services to the family as a whole unit in order for the family to stay together longer. For the individuals living with family, Marrakech will provide paraprofessional staff to work with the individual as well as the family at home and in the community. The staff will work with each individual to increase independence at home and socialization and safety skills in the community. Marrakech will also offer behavior management supports if needed.

Once an individual moves out of the home and into their own apartment, Marrakech will provide a support staff that will provide periodic assistance that focuses on independent living, self-help skills, household management, budgeting, and recreation and leisure planning.

Community Support Services can be funded by several sources which include DDS, DCF, Board of Education, and Private Pay.

Community Support Services support staff and case managers collaborate with funding sources, parents/guardians, nursing services, clinical supports, and day and social programs to achieve established Individual Planning goals. The individual is included in this process and assists in creating goals focused on increasing quality of life, discovering strengths to successfully live independently in the community, promoting community access, maximizing opportunities to socialize, and planning ahead for the future.
