Vocational Rehabilitation/Level Up Program

Marrakech’s Vocational Rehabilitation Services support individuals with disabilities as they explore career paths, build job readiness skills, and succeed in meaningful employment. Individuals are typically referred through the Bureau of Rehabilitation Services (BRS). Through individualized, person-centered supports, participants gain hands-on experience, workplace confidence, and the tools needed to prepare for, secure, and maintain employment at different stages of their lives.

Vocational Rehabilitation

The Vocational Rehabilitation program supports adults with disabilities in preparing for, finding, keeping, or advancing in employment. Services are short-term and tailored to each individual’s strengths, goals, and support needs.

Individuals receive assistance through work readiness training, vocational and situational assessments, job placement, and retention services. Supports may include job coaching, informational interviews, job shadowing, work attachment, and on-the-job supports designed to promote stability and long-term success in competitive employment.

Level Up

The Level Up Program supports students ages 16–21 with disabilities who are enrolled in secondary or post-secondary education and preparing for the transition to employment. The program focuses on early career exploration and skill development to help students build confidence and make informed career decisions.

Individuals engage in career exploration, interview preparation, job shadowing, informational interviews, job club, and work-based experiences. Individualized supports such as situational assessments, job placement, and job coaching help students gain real-world experience and prepare for successful entry into the workforce.

Eligibility: Individuals must meet the eligibility requirements established by the referral source when applicable. Basic criteria require that the individual served has a disability and needs support in finding a job or retaining one once placed.

Details: The frequency of services is dependent upon individualized needs.

Geographic Areas Covered: Services can take place statewide but are currently concentrated in the New Haven, Waterbury, Bridgeport and Fairfield areas.
